Improvement Measures for Eliminating Abnormal Oil Temperature

Excessive temperature rise in the hydraulic system is a relatively common defect. To eliminate this defect, corresponding effective measures should be taken according to its essence.

I. Reasonable Design of the Hydraulic System
(1) Select a Hydraulic Pump with a Relatively Small Power as Much as Possible
On the premise of meeting the power requirements of the system, the output power of the hydraulic pump should be minimized to reduce the overflow loss and heat generation.
(2) Minimize the Loaded Operation Time of the Hydraulic Pump
When designing the hydraulic system, attention should be paid to keeping the hydraulic pump in a low-pressure state or unloading state as much as possible. Necessary unloading valves should be installed in the system. For a dual-pump system, the combined mode of fast movement at low pressure with the large pump and pressurization and pressure maintenance at high pressure with the small pump should be adopted.
(3) Simplify the Hydraulic System as Much as Possible
The hydraulic system should be as simple as possible. The number of components should be minimized, the length of the hydraulic pipeline should be shortened as much as possible, and the number of abrupt changes in the pipeline diameter and bends should be reduced. At the same time, the throttle speed control mode should be used as little as possible, and the volumetric speed control mode or the speed control mode combining volumetric speed control and throttle speed control should be used more, so as to reduce various frictional losses along the path and local losses.

II. Eliminate Various Internal Leakages
(1) Select High-quality Hydraulic Components
The clearance of the mating surfaces of some hydraulic components is large, which is likely to cause internal leakage, and the internal leakage leads to throttling heat generation. When designing the hydraulic system, attention should be paid to selecting hydraulic components with high mating precision and small clearances. It is also important not to overlook the timely replacement of severely worn hydraulic components.
(2) Avoid Oil Circuit Intercommunication
Due to reasons such as processing and installation, or poor material quality, the hydraulic valve block may have the problem of oil circuit intercommunication. This internal leakage point should be found out through effective means and eliminated.

III. Improve the Cooling Conditions
(1) Increase the Size of the Oil Tank
Increasing the size of the oil tank can allow the hydraulic oil to have a longer cooling time, which is beneficial to reducing the oil temperature.
(2) Select a Larger Cooler
Increasing the cooling capacity can be achieved by replacing it with a larger cooler, and this method is relatively simple.
(3) Add a Cooler
Adding a cooler to the hydraulic system can significantly reduce the system oil temperature.
