The correct installation method for oil seals usually includes the following steps:

When taking out the oil seal from the warehouse, it is necessary to check whether there are dust and sand impurities on the surface and lip of the oil seal to ensure that it is clean.

For oil seals with two or more lips (such as TC, TA, TB, TF types), fill the lip area with lubricating grease; For single lip oil seals (such as SC, VC, VB types), apply lubricating grease to the lip end.

Confirm that there are no foreign objects such as rust proof oil or dust attached to the surface of the shaft and cavity. If there are any, please clean them thoroughly.

Confirm that there are no burrs on the surface of the shaft cavity, chamfer, etc., to avoid damaging the lip area during installation.

Installation process:

Use specialized fixtures to install oil seals to avoid tilting of the seals. Ensure that the installation direction of the oil seal is correct, with the sealing lip facing towards the sealing medium side.

If the oil seal is an open oil seal, the following steps need to be followed for installation:

Place the sponge cover on both ends of the split and apply lubricating grease to the inner circumference.

Open the open oil seal from the split and place it on the rotating shaft. Remove the sponge cover and apply DSF special adhesive to the lower section of the oil seal at the split.

Moderately press the mating surface and hold for 10 to 20 seconds.

Tighten the spring docking and move it into the open oil seal spring groove.

Rotate the split to directly above the shaft and tap the oil seal into the installation hole.

Installation under specific circumstances:

For the installation of the crankshaft rear oil seal, three hexagon socket bolts can be used to fix the guide shaft to the front section of the engine crankshaft, and then the crankshaft rear oil seal can be installed on the guide shaft. Install the pressure plate and use an adjustable wrench to turn the nut to press the pressure plate into place. Finally, remove the specialized maintenance tool and complete the installation.
