What is a V Ring seal?

The V rings have four standard structural forms: VA, VS, VE, and VL. It is an axially acting rubber sealing ring. Different from ordinary rotary oil seals, the V ring forms an axial seal through its elastic sealing lip. The sealing lip has good mobility and adaptability. Therefore, compared with other seals, it can compensate for large deviations and angular deviations. The V ring can be used for pressureless axial sealing on the surfaces of rotating shafts and bearing caps.
Due to its simple structure, convenient use, and high working reliability, the design workload of relevant grooves and installations is greatly reduced. Therefore, the V rings  is widely applied in fields such as industrial engineering, water treatment devices, rolling machines, and lathes.


Features:
The V rings is fixed on the shaft by its own elastic tension. The flexible sealing lip maintains contact with the surface of the shaft seat with a small contact force. The flexible sealing lip can compensate for the eccentricity of the shaft, the misalignment between the cavity and the shaft, and the machining errors of the shaft. The sealing lip can prevent the internal grease or oil from leaking outward, and at the same time prevent external dust, dirt, etc. from invading. Since the V rings rotates with the shaft, due to the action of centrifugal force, its body acts like a slip ring to prevent dirt from invading the working medium. Different from other oil seals, the V rings forms a radial seal through its elastic sealing lip. The sealing lip has good mobility and adaptability, so it requires smaller tolerance fit compared with other seals, has a simple design, and can also make up for the eccentricity of the rotating shaft.
